Default Know-HEART ATTACK-save a life in trouble

Know-HEART ATTACK-save a life in trouble-

-Heart is like a power-house of a human body. Sudden stopage of its function takes a life to the end. As majority of ill-functionalities of body parts come with some adverse symptoms, and knowing them in advance can prevent a life...... Know the symptoms of a heart-attact and save a life in trouble.

-Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

-You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

-60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

"HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE":

-Let's assume it's 6.15 pm and you're driving home . Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.

-You have been trained in CPR-cardiopulmonary resuscitation (learn CPR here; LEARN CPR - CPR information and training resources.) but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.

-Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

-However, heart-attack patients can help themself by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

-A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally
again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!! "

Humm.. How I missed this…Tantrik bro posted about CPR and cognitive symptoms for the heart attacks..( Tantrick bro aishiyosh kam sataun hami..hehe…you give me your pay stubs and I will give you mine..hehe)

I am not a big admirer of CPR although it could have helped many people to buy the time when they were on cardiac arrest. Sometimes some medical practises were merely a propaganda by some leading medical institutions and for me CPR is just the one. Although CRP has been the basic training given by many ambulance services in North America in schools and other institutions I am not a big fan of it.. although I did few times mouth to mouth in critical conditions…but for me defibrillator is the best option, when I am equipped with it.

Theoritically, Cardiac arrest happens when the heart stops pumping blood because its rhythm becomes disordered and unsynchronized (called ventricular fibrillation). This happens most often as the result of underlying heart disease. Experts have taught for more than 40 years to give someone in cardiac arrest mouth-to-mouth between chest compressions, but in a recent study published in The Lancet, scientists found that survival rates of cardiac victims were higher when compressions were not accompanied by mouth-to-mouth (echoing studies that have been coming out for more than a decade). That's because a person's blood remains fully oxygenated when the heart stops. The only time mouth-to-mouth is necessary, some heart specialists now believe, is in the case of a drowning or a drug overdose. In those cases, the heart is still pumping blood, so the body's oxygen levels are quickly depleted.

"If you see someone drop to the ground suddenly with abnormal breathing and no pulse, that's cardiac arrest," says Dr. Ewy, who has been recognized by the American Heart Association for his contributions to the science of CPR. "What you need to do is immediately call 911. If there's a defibrillator around, send someone to get it while you start continuous chest compressions (CCC) at a pace of 100 per minute." A defibrillator is the only thing that can depolarize the muscle fibers that are spasming out of sequence (i.e., jumpstart the heart). Chest compressions simply buy the person time by moving blood into his heart and brain, keeping the blood pressure from falling to zero and the person from slipping into a coma while medical services race to the scene. It takes only six minutes for someone to go from ventricular fibrillation to flat line if nothing is done, but — as we now know — there is a twofold increase in survival when chest compressions are applied.

The best way to deal with cardiac arrest situation is to call the emergency medical service (911) while you continue chest compression till the medical team arrives. Ambulances will not only rush you to hospital, they are equipped with oxygen supply and defibrillators. They are also equipped with are heart monitoring machines which monitor heart rhythms called ECGs and view your heart from 12 different angles and transmit to the hospital. In cases where an abnormal heart rhythm has been detected, the defibrillator can be used to correct any life threatening conditions. Also, paramedics carry a large number of drugs, which can be used to alleviate the heart condition, e.g. ‘clot busting drugs’.
