Dysentery Claims Six in Bajhang

Six persons have died of dysentery in Deuralikot village development committee, Bajhang, in less than a week.
According to the Far Western Regional Health Directorate, Dipayal, the disease has spread in ward no. 4 and 5 of the VDC since the last one week.
One of the patients who died of dysentery has been identified as Govinda Prasad Joshi (46), officer at the directorate Ram Chandra Ojha said, adding that other deceased were yet to be identified.
“The other deceased couldn't be identified because it takes two days to reach the village from district headquarters Chainpur and the telephone service there has also been disrupted,” he added.
More than 12 persons are getting treatment in District Public Health Office, Chainpur and Seti Zonal Hospital, Dhangadhi.
A medical team led by Dr Khagendra Bhandari has been sent to the village to control the disease, the Directorate said.
