| First and foremost , I am not an ardent fan of Indian Idol.I just happened to watch a clip on you tube. Somebody posted a link here and i followed it. Prashant Tamang was the New Indian Idol. When i saw him cry with joy, i felt a chill run down my spine .He thanked almost everyone.Everyone who helped him see that day. This happens in almost every reality tv show's grand finale.Nothing new about it. There was something very peculiar and unique about this night.I dont know if anybody else felt it..But i surely did.It was that moment when his sister put a nepali "Dhaka topi" on his head,i felt proud of a family who preferred to be called a nepali even though they are not technically 'Nepali".They chose to maintain and preserve their heritage while living outside all their life. For a moment that just made me rethink about my existence and my purpose of living.I kept on asking myself who i am and where i belong. It made me feel guilty.I was proud to be called a Nepali by Birth.Prashant and his family were more nepali than i am.He made me feel guilty. He smiled for everyone .I felt he was actually questioning me about my Nepalipan.I could just sit and watch him thank me for being a dead log..

| hehe Nully. Great man. Same thing happened to me. About 2 months back, I heard that One guy from Darjeeling is in top 5 and my fren asked me to vote. But I thought why should I vote for Indian Idol and why should I pay Sony. After that I almost forgot. About 3 weeks back I saw a clip of II that top 3 contestants were in their home town. Prashant sang 'Yo man ta mero Nepali ho" and he is singing with Dhaka Topi..... Wow.. that time I really felt bad. Then regularly sent sms and campaign for him.... "Gorkhe ko chhora ma Gorkhali mero nam"... Prashant is a realy hero, who unite the Nepali heart. The thread called Prashant was able to make garland of Nepali. Salute to our hero. Netionality and Nepalipan doesn't limit within a paper of citizenship. We got our Nepali people after Sugauli treaty took away from us. Yo man ta mero nepali ho....

| Null I think its better to use Nepali as adjective and not as pronouns. There is no point of feeling guilty or pride. I hate boarders...now the world has been marked sooo deeply with it that its not possible to delete it ... atleast lets delete all these boarders from our minds. And beside the news of prashant winning and people being massaccred in kapilbastu came at same time.... so I was dead log too. Last edited by Clicker; 10-03-2007 at 01:18 AM.. | ||||||||
